At the session, Al-Haq highlighted ongoing Israeli violations of international law affecting Palestinian Bedouins, a Palestinian minority community residing within in the Occupied Palestinian Territory, particularly in Area C. Al-Haq expressed its grave concern at the ongoing forcible displacement of families within the Bedouin community and the imminent risk of such displacement due to the Israeli discriminatory practices against them, which includes arbitrary house demotions and land expropriation. In this regard, Al-Haq urged the international community to halt any Israeli attempts to forcibly transfer the Bedouin community in Area C and stressed on the right of the Palestinians to self-determination and exercise of sovereignty over their land and natural resources.

Al-Haq encouraged the adoption of the Forum’s draft recommendation 32 which stresses on the implementation of the Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights. In addition, Al-Haq urged the Forum to call on States to secure minorities from forcible transfer along the lines of draft recommendation 49 which ensures minorities’ protection from forcible displacement.
