and delivers letters to the EU and UN
AL-HAQ PRESS RELEASE
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
REF.: 36.2008E
04 December 2008
Today in Ramallah, the Palestinian human rights community joined together to mark the upcoming 60th
anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights by marching to the EU and UN offices, holding signs of protest in Arabic and English. Joint letters condemning the international community for its inertia and shameful inaction in the face of continuing violations of Palestinian human rights and especially the current humanitarian crisis in the Gaza Strip were hand delivered. In these letters, the Palestinian human rights community reminds the EU and the UN of their obligations under international law and urge that they take immediate concrete action to end Israel‘s grave violations of the human rights of the Palestinian people in the Occupied Palestinian Territory.
