This is in violation of the amended Palestinian Basic Law and the Code of Criminal Procedures, given that the President, and not the PLC, only has the authority to ratify such sentences. It also violates various rights guaranteed in international covenants that the State of Palestine acceded to, particularly the right not to be arbitrarily deprived of life and the right to fair trial.[1]

The Paris Agreement was reached at the 21st annual Conference of Parties (COP) to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC), also known as the 2015 Paris Climate Conference. On December 18, 2014, Palestine became signatory to the UNFCCC, the UN treaty body which aims at “preventing dangerous human interference with the climate system”, enabling it to sign the Paris Agreement.

hebron-killing-march-2016On Thursday 24 March 2016, Abd Al-Fattah Yousri Al-Sharif and Ramzi 'Aziz Al-Qasrawi, both 20 years old, were killed by the Israeli Occupying Forces (IOF) in the old city of Hebron. The soldiers claim that both Ramzi and Abd Al-Fattah carried out a stabbing attack against a soldier at the scene. According to Al-Haq witness statements and investigations, Abd Al-Fattah and Ramzi appear to have both been extra-judicially killed; the acts may amount to a war crime. Perpetrators should be held accountable.
