On 14 January 2010, a joint letter was sent in the name of Palestinian non-governmental organisations to the Palestinian Authority in the Westbank and the de facto government of Hamas in the Gaza Strip, urging both authorities to immediately commence internal investigations in compliance with General Assembly Resolution A/RES/64/10.
