Since 8 July and the commencement of 'Operation Protective Edge', Israeli hostilities have continued against the occupied Gaza Strip with a growing number of civilian deaths, injuries and property destruction.

 

The following documentation is provided by the Al-Haq field research team in the Gaza Strip and is updated regularly. 

 

 

Tuesday 26 August

Khan Younis Governorate

  • 8:30 A.M. An airstrike hit towards the water line in Khan Younis refugee camp while being fixed. No injuries reported.
  • 2:30 P.M. A house was struck and destroyed in Absan al-Jadida.
  • 6:30 P.M. An airstrike hit a car, killing two brothers Omar and Muhammad Husam al-Brem.

Rafah Governorate

  • 4:40 A.M. Three missiles struck and destroyed a house in al-Shabura refugee camp, injuring one person.
  • 5:00 P.M. A house was struck and destroyed in Rafah city.
  • 6:00 P.M. An airstrike hit a group of people in al-Jnena neighbourhood, killing Yusef Ghannam, 22, Muhammad al-Riyati, 24, and Ahmad Jarbu’, 22.

North Gaza Governorate

  • 1:00 A.M. Two missiles struck and destroyed a house in Jabaliyya.
  • 3:00 A.M. Two missiles struck and destroyed a house in al-Manshiya area, causing damage to several houses nearby.
  • 5:30 A.M. Two airstrikes hit and destroyed a house, causing damage to several houses nearby.
  • 6:30 A.M. Two missiles struck and destroyed a house in Tal al-Za’tar, causing damage to nearby houses.
  • 7:40 A.M. An airstrike hit and damaged a house in Jabaliyya refugee camp.
  • 8:30 A.M. Two missiles struck and destroyed a house in Jabaliyya, damaging several houses nearby.
  • Two missiles struck and destroyed a house, injuring three people.
  • 1:35 P.M. An airstrike hit a car that belongs to the electricity authority in the area, killing two workers Tamer Medhat Hamad, 24, and Muhammad Abdelrahman Thaher, 49, and injuring three others passing by.
  • 2:10 P.M. Two missiles struck and destroyed a house in Tal al-Za’atar in Jabaliyya, causing damage to several houses nearby.
  • 3:45 P.M. An airstrike hit and killed a member of the resistance groups; Muhammad Majdi al-Shawish, 24, in al-Qaraman Street in Bait Lahia.
  • 6:30 P.M. Three missiles struck and destroyed a residential tower (No. 67) in al-Sheikh Zayed in Bait Lahia. The tower is made up of five floors and consists of 10 residential apartments, wherein 14 families live (approximately 80 people).

Gaza Governorate

  • 12:20 A.M. An airstrike hit and killed Muhammad Mu’in Abu Ajwa, 28, and Hasan Omar Khawas, 24, while near their houses in al-Nafaq Street.
  • 12:25 A.M. Two missiles struck and destroyed a house on al-Yarmuk Street, causing damage to several houses nearby.
  • 2:00 A.M. Two missiles struck and destroyed a house near al-Sahaba medical centre.
  • 3:00 A.M. Two missiles struck a school in al-Zaytun neighbourhood, causing severe damage to the school and Gaza University nearby.
  • 3:30 A.M. Two missiles struck and destroyed a school in al-Shuja’iyya neighbourhood, causing damage to two other nearby schools.
  • 3:35 A.M. Two missiles struck an association for the handicapped in al-Zaytun neighbourhood, causing serious damage to the building.
  • 4:15 A.M. Six consecutive missiles struck al-Basha tower which consists of 13 floors in the city centre and which includes residential building and offices. The building was destroyed and severe damages were caused to its surroundings. This is the fourth high rise building to be struck and destroyed during the Israeli offensive on the Strip.
  • 1:40 P.M. An airstrike hit a motorcycle in al-Shaghaf neighbourhood, killing two members of the resistance groups, Shadi Suleiman ‘Elewa, 24, and Salem Abdelhamid Muhammadin, 23.
  • 9:00 P.M. Lama Khadr al-Nabih, 4, was declared dead. She was injured on 20 August 2014 following an airstrike that hit near her house in al-Shuja’iyya.

Monday 25 August

Khan Younis Governorate

  • 10:30 A.M. Two missiles struck and destroyed a house in al-Qarara, causing damage to three neighbouring houses.
  • 2:00 P.M. Several artillery shells struck east of al-Qarara and al-Zana area.
  • 2:45 P.M. Two missiles struck and destroyed a house in al-Qarara. The owner of the house was phone called by the Israeli military to evacuate the house minutes before the strikes.
  • 3:45 P.M. Two airstrikes hit and destroyed a house in al-Qarara.
  • 4:10 P.M. Two missiles struck and destroyed a house in Absan al-Kabira.
  • 4:20 P.M. An airstrike hit and damaged an agricultural land in al-Satr al-Gharbi.
  • 6:15 P.M. An airstrike hit and damaged a farmland and a residence.
  • 10:45 P.M. Two airstrikes hit and destroyed a house, injuring one person.

Rafah Governorate

  • 12:10 A.M. Four missiles struck Rafah Border Crossing on the Egyptian-Palestinian borders, causing severe damage to its facilities and injuring two security officers.
  • 7:00 A.M. One member of the resistance groups was declared dead. He was targeted and injured on 23 August 2014.
  • 11:15 A.M. An airstrike hit an empty land near Rafah crossing damaging a mosque.
  • 10:45 P.M. Two missiles struck an empty land near al-Shabura refugee camp, injuring one person who had been passing by then.

Central Governorate

  • 1:00 A.M. An airstrike hit and damaged a house in al-Nusseirat refugee camp.
  • 1:30 A.M. Two missiles struck and destroyed a house in al-Brej refugee camp.
  • 2:00 A.M. Four missiles struck and destroyed an abandoned carpentry in al-Brej refugee camp.
  • 12:00 P.M. Two missiles struck and destroyed a house in al-Brej refugee camp.
  • 1:10 P.M. Two airstrikes hit and destroyed a house in al-Maghazi refugee camp, damaging several houses nearby.
  • 1:50 P.M. Three missiles struck and destroyed a house in al-Maghazi refugee camp, damaging several houses nearby.
  • 3:00 P.M. Two missiles struck and destroyed a house in Der al-Balah, causing damage to nearby houses.
  • 5:00 P.M. Two airstrikes hit and destroyed a house in Der al-Balah, damaging several houses nearby.
  • 5:20 P.M. Three missiles struck and destroyed a house in al-Nusseirat refugee camp, injuring one resident.
  • 11:00 P.M. An airstrike hit and destroyed a house in al-Maghazi refugee camp.

Gaza Governorate

  • Houses have been targeted while three people were killed, of whom two are civilians.
  • 2:20 A.M. Two missiles struck and destroyed a mosque in al-Zaytun neighbourhood.
  • 12:15 P.M. Hani Muhammad Yasin, 40, was declared dead. He was injured on 20 August 2014 in airstrike that hit al-Zaytun neighbourhood.
  • 2:20 P.M. An airstrike hit a car, killing four members of the resistance groups: Ahmad Taysir al-Dali, 29, Basem Hassan Hijazi, 36, Ahmad Hassan Hijazi, 23, and Musailama Abu Zina, 40.
  • 5:00 P.M. An airstrike hit and severely damaged al-Sham’aa mosque in al-Zaytun neighbourhood.
  • 6:00 P.M. Abdallah Fadl Murtaji, 26, was declared dead due to injuries he sustained following an airstrike on al-Shuja’iyya.
  • 9:15 P.M. Three missiles struck and destroyed a house in al-Sabra neighbourhood, damaging several houses nearby.
  • 10:00 P.M. An airstrike hit and destroyed a house, killing one resident Sa’ad Basem ‘Ajur, 22, a member of the resistance groups.
  • 10:30 P.M. Seven consecutive missiles struck the Italian Compound building on al-Nasr Street. The building is 15 floors high, 13 of which contain 52 residential apartments and the two floors consist of a shopping mall and offices. The building was destroyed and severe damages were caused to the surrounding area.
  • 11:30 P.M. Three missiles struck and destroyed a house in al-Zaytun neighbourhood.

North Gaza Governorate

  • 12:05 A.M. Two missiles struck and destroyed a mosque, injuring four people, including two children.
  • 12:10 A.M. Two missiles struck and destroyed a house in Jabaliyya refugee camp, injuring 17 people, including 2 children and a journalist.
  • 4:10 A.M. Two missiles struck and destroyed a house in Jabaliyya, damaging several neighbouring houses.
  • 4:45 A.M. Two airstrikes hit and destroyed a house in Jabaliyya, damaging several nearby houses.
  • 7:30 A.M. A backyard was struck in Bet Lahia, killing one resident Farhana Ibrahim al-‘Attar, 48, while taking care of the birdhouse.
  • 10:40 A.M. Two missiles struck and destroyed a house in Beit Lahia, killing the owner and three of the family members and injuring nine people. The owner of the house is Radad Ahmad Tanbura, 36, and the bodies are still being searched for in the ruins.
  • 11:45 A.M. An airstrike hit and killed Usama Muhammad Shabir, 25, while near his house and Usama Hamdi al-Shalfuh, 22, while in Jabaliyya refugee camp.
  • 1:30 P.M. Three missiles struck and severely damaged a house and the garden in Jabaliyya.
  • 2:30 P.M. Four missiles struck and destroyed a steel workshop in Jabaliyya.
  • 4:40 P.M. Two missiles struck and destroyed a house in al-Salatin neighbourhood, damaging several houses nearby.
  • 9:10 P.M. Two airstrikes hit and destroyed a house in al-Shaima area, damaging several houses nearby and a greenhouse.
  • 9:50 P.M. An airstrike hit an agricultural land near a shelter school, causing damage to the school and injuring five of the displaced people.

Sunday 24 August

Central Governorate

  • 3:15 P.M. Two missiles struck and destroyed a house along with three neighbouring houses in Der al-Balah.
  • 11:15 A.M. An airstrike hit and destroyed a house in Deir al-Balah, killing two members of the resistance groups who were near the house and injuring 14 others.
  • 5:00 P.M. A missile struck and destroyed a house in al-Brej refugee camp, damaging several nearby houses.
  • 5:15 P.M. Two missiles struck and destroyed a house in al-Brej refugee camp, damaging several neighbouring houses.

Khan Younis Governorate

  • 4:45 A.M. Two missiles struck and damaged a house in al-Manara neighbourhood.
  • 9:30 A.M. Two airstrikes hit and destroyed a house in al-Mahatta area.
  • 2:00 P.M. Three missiles struck several houses belonging to the Abu Ma’ruf family in Joret al-Lut. Several minutes later and for two hours, 13 missiles struck the seven houses for the same family and destroyed them, displacing at least 10 families. At the same time, two missiles struck and destroyed another house in the same area and destroying four other houses and damaging many. Ten people were injured as a result, including two children.
  • 4:00 P.M. Two airstrikes hit and destroyed a house in al-Sha’er neighbourhood. Two missiles were also fired at a house in the same neighbourhood and severely damaged.
  • 4:20 P.M. Two airstrikes hit and destroyed two houses in Khan Younis.
  • 7:20 P.M. Two airstrikes hit and destroyed al-Rahma Charity Association in al-Zini Street, damaging many houses and surrounding structures.
  • 9:00 P.M. A missile struck and destroyed a house in al-Fukhari neighbourhood.

North Gaza Governorate

  • 4:50 A.M. An airstrike hit an agricultural land in Bait Lahia, injuring one.
  • 5:00 A.M. Two missiles struck a sports field in Bait Lahia, damaging the field and injuring people who had been passing by.
  • 12:00 P.M. Two houses were struck in ‘Izbet Milin in Jabaliyya, destroying one and severely damaging two others.
  • 12:00 P.M. Three missiles struck and destroyed a steel workshop on al-Sikka Street in Jabaliyya, damaging several houses nearby.
  • 12:30 P.M. Two airstrikes hit and destroyed a five-storey house in ‘Izbet Milin in Jabaliyya. Several neighbouring houses were damaged as a result.
  • 12:35 P.M. Two airstrikes hit and destroyed a house in Jabaliyya, injuring six people, including one child. Several houses nearby were damaged as a result.
  • 1:40 P.M. Two missiles struck a motorcycle in Bait Lahia, killing one of the riders Muhammad Ibrahim al-Luqa, 23, and injuring another.
  • 4:15 P.M. An airstrike hit and destroyed a backyard of the house while the residents were in the backyard, including four children, killing the mother Rawya Ibrahim Muhammad, 43, and her children Tasnim Isam Joude, 14, Raghad, 12, Usama, 6, and Muhammad, 8. Another 13-year-old son was injured.
  • 7:10 P.M. Two airstrikes hit and destroyed a two-storey house in al-Qar’aa, Beit Lahia, damaging several houses nearby.
  • 7:30 P.M. Two missiles struck and destroyed a three-storey house in Bait Hanun, damaging several houses nearby.

Gaza Governorate

  • 4:30 A.M. An airstrike hit a motorcycle north of Gaza city, killing its two riders: Yehia Omar Abulomarin, 18, and Badreldeen Hashem Abu Mani’, 17.
  • 6:00 A.M. Two missiles struck and destroyed a house in al-Nasr neighbourhood.
  • 6:05 A.M. Two missiles struck and destroyed a house in west of al-Nasr neighbourhood.
  • 11:50 A.M. An airstrike hit an empty land in al-Yarmuk, killing two children Zeinab Bilal Abu Taqiya, 1, and Muhammad Wa’el al-Khudari, 16, who were in the nearby houses.
  • 12:30 P.M. A car was struck with a missile in al-Remal neighbourhood, killing the driver Muhammad Tal’at al-Ghul, 30, and injuring five others who were passing by.
  • 1:00 P.M. Two missiles struck and destroyed a five-storey house in North West of the city, damaging several houses nearby.
  • 11:30 P.M. Three missiles struck and destroyed a house west of the city. The owner of the house had been killed in a previous airstrike that hit his car on the same day.
  • 11:35 P.M. An airstrike hit a group of people near a bakery on al-Nasr Street, killing Yehia Mu’in Abu Daqn, 25, and Yasin Ibrahim al-Biltaji, 23.

Rafah Governorate

  • 8:30 P.M. An airstrike hit and destroyed a street.

Saturday 23 August

Gaza Governorate

  • 12:00 A.M. Without prior warning, two missiles struck and destroyed a house in al-Zawayda town, killing five of its residents: Hayel Shehada Abu Dahruj, 28, his wife Huda Muhammad Khamis Abu Dahruj, 25, their children Abdallah, 3, and Abdelhadi, 2, and their aunt Hayat Abderabo Abu Dahruj, 49. Four members of the family were injured, including two children.
  • 1:30 A.M. An airstrike hit and destroyed al-Susi Mosque in al-Shate’ refugee camp. The mosque had been hit previously.
  • 6:15 A.M. Six missiles struck and destroyed an uninhabited house in al-Zaytun neighbourhood.
  • 12:00 P.M. Muhammad Naser al-‘Ijla, 64, was declared dead. He was shot while in the buffer zone.
  • 7:20 P.M. Two missiles struck al-Thafer Building in Tal al-Hawa, destroying the 13-storey building containing 46 apartments and inhabited by around 240 people. 18 people were injured as a result. Israeli forces had phone called some of the residents half an hour prior to the strikes ordering them to evacuate the building. The residents of four buildings nearby also evacuated.
  • 9:00 P.M. An airstrike hit a car in al-Nasr neighbourhood, killing a member of the resistance groups Mahmud Abbas Abulamrein, 28.

Khan Younis Governorate

  • 3:50 A.M. Two airstrikes hit and destroyed Abdelrahman Mosque in Absan al-Kabira.
  • 5:30 A.M. Three missiles struck and severely damaged the Cultural Centre in al-Qarara.
  • 6:00 A.M. Abdelrahman Salem Abu Hadayed, 25, was declared dead. He was injured on 21 August 2014 in airstrike that hit a motorcycle he was riding with his brother Hamdan, 44.
  • 12:55 P.M. Four missiles struck and destroyed a house in al-Katiba area, damaging several houses nearby.
  • 3:00 P.M. Salah Jum’aa Salim, 26, was declared dead in an Egyptian hospital. He was injured in the shelling of his house on 2 August 2014 in al-Qarara.

Rafah Governorate

  • 11 missiles and dozens of artillery shells struck different parts of Rafah, mostly targeting empty lands and military training locations belonging to the members of the resistance groups.
  • 11:45 A.M. Israeli aircrafts threw thousands of leaflets on several areas of Rafah city ordering the residents to evacuate any targeted area and threatening to target any house near which rockets are fired.
  • 12:00 P.M. A missile struck and injured a member of the resistance groups in al-Jenena neighbourhood.
  • 12:10 P.M. An airstrike hit and destroyed a house in al-Jenena neighbourhood.
  • 2:45 P.M. Two missiles struck and destroyed a house in Rafah refugee camp, damaging several properties nearby and injuring one person. Seven families lived in the house.
  • 3:30 P.M. Three missiles struck and destroyed a house in al-Tannur neighbourhood, injuring two people and damaging several nearby houses.
  • 11:00 P.M. Seven missiles and destroyed a shopping centre in the city centre, causing severe damages to its surroundings, including houses, stores, and two shelters. Seven people were injured, including two children. The centre includes 14 apartments, offices, clinics, 47 stores, a wedding hall and a restaurant. At the same time, two missiles were fired at one of the nearby buildings.

Central Governorate

  • 11:00 A.M. Two airstrikes hit and destroyed a house wherein four families live in al-Brej refugee camp. Several adjacent houses were damaged as a result.
  • 2:00 P.M. Two missiles struck a residential building in Der al-Balah, wherein 10 families live, and killing three: Nisreen Ibrahim Ahmad, 38, her child Hussein Khaled Ahmad, 8, and Abdelkarim Hamad Abu Madin, 43, and injuring two others, including one child.
  • 2:15 P.M. Two missiles struck and destroyed a house where in three families live in al-Brej refugee camp, damaging several nearby houses.
  • 6:00 P.M. An airstrike hit and damaged a house in al-Brej refugee camp.

North Gaza Governorate

  • 11:15 A.M. An airstrike hit a farmland in Bait Hanun, injuring four civilians.
  • 11:30 A.M. Two missiles struck and severely damaged a house in al-Fakhura area in Jabaliyya refugee camp.
  • 1:25 P.M. Two missiles struck and severely damaged an apartment in Sheikh Zayed towers in Beit Lahia.
  • 3:10 P.M. Two missiles struck and destroyed a house in Jabaliyya refugee camp.
  • 4:35 P.M. A missile struck an agricultural land on al-Manshia Street in Bait Lahia, injuring two, including a child.

Friday 22 August

Central Governorate

  • 4:30 A.M. An airstrike hit a house in al-Nusseirat refugee camp. Half an hour later, another missile struck the house, destroying it and damaging several adjacent houses.
  • 5:30 A.M. A missile struck and destroyed al-Ta’awun Concrete Industry in al-Zawayda town. A truck belonging to the company was destroyed as well.
  • 6:00 A.M. Two airstrikes hit and destroyed a house, wherein a family of 9 live, in Deir al-Balah. Neighbouring houses were damaged as a result.
  • 7:30 A.M. A missile hit and killed two members of the resistance groups; Mahmud Naser Qashlan, 24, and Yasin Hamed Abu Hamad, 22, while in a farm east of al-Zawayda town.
  • 10:00 A.M. An airstrike hit and destroyed a house in al-Brej refugee camp.
  • 4:20 P.M. An airstrike hit and killed Ismai’l Muslim Ibtihan, 69, while on his land in al-Zawayda.

Khan Younis Governorate

  • 2:00 A.M. An airstrike hit and destroyed a greenhouse in al-Satr al-Gharbi. An adjacent house was also destroyed as a result.
  • 7:50 A.M. Two airstrikes hit and destroyed a house in al-Fukhari area.
  • 11:00 A.M. An airstrike hit al-‘Abadla neighbourhood in al-Qarara. Moments later, another missile struck the roof of a house in the same neighbourhood, killing a father and his son and injuring his other son: Ahmad Qasem al-‘Abadla, 59, Musa, 23. They had gone on the roof to see where the first missile hit.

Rafah Governorate

  • 2:30 A.M. A missile struck a building on Omar Bin Khattab Street, which includes a pharmacy and other offices. Two hours later, another missile struck the building, partially destroying it. At the same time, another missile struck another building on the same street. And two hours later, another missile struck the second building which partially destroyed it.

North Gaza Governorate

  • 7:00 A.M. A missile struck and destroyed a three-storey house in Jabaliyya. The owner of the house had received a phone call from the Israeli intelligence to evacuate the house.
  • 6:00 P.M. An airstrike hit an empty field at the southern entrance of Beit Hanun, injuring one person who had been passing by then.
  • 8:40 P.M. A missile struck al-Faluja cemetery in Jabaliyya refugee camp, destroying several graves and damaging the location. As a result, four people were injured.
  • 8:50 P.M. A chicken farm was struck and destroyed on al-Sikka Street in Beit Hanun.
  • 9:15 P.M. Two missiles struck a land near Maslan area in Bait Lahia, damaging nearby houses and injuring one.
  • 10:10 P.M. An airstrike hit and destroyed a house on al-Manshia Street in Bait Lahia.

Gaza Governorate

  • 12:00 P.M. An airstrike hit a building in al-Shate’ refugee camp, destroying an apartment and severely damaging another.
  • 8:30 P.M. Three missiles struck and destroyed a house in al-Sabra neighbourhood, injuring 40 people.

Thursday 21 August

North Gaza Governorate

  • 18 people have been injured in the continuous attacks on the North Gaza Governorate, including four children.
  • 6:45 A.M. An airstrike hit and killed Hussam Abedrabo Abu Jaser, 45, while on his land in Jabaliyya.
  • 8:00 A.M. An airstrike hit and killed Surur Muhammad Tanbura, 35, and his son Hasan, 13, while walking near their house in Beit Lahia.
  • 1:20 P.M. Two missiles struck and destroyed a house on al-Manshia Street in Beit Lahia.
  • 2:10 P.M. Three missiles struck and destroyed a house on Zamu Street in Beit Hanun.
  • 5:05 P.M. Two airstrikes hit and destroyed a house on al-Qarman Street in Beit Hanun.

Gaza Governorate

  • 9:30 A.M. An airstrike hit a group of people from al-Rifi family while on their farmland in al-Nafaq Street, killing five, including three children: Nasr Zeyad al-Rifi, 37, his son Omar, 4, Muhammad Zeyad al-Rifi, 28m Abdallah Tareq al-Rifi, 6, and his brother Zeyad, 13. Four more people were injured, including two children.
  • 11:20 A.M. An airstrike hit a group of grave diggers while digging a grave in al-Sheikh Radwan graveyard, killing five of them, including one child: Muhammad Hamdi Abu Nahl, 17, his brother Rami, 20, Awsam Talal Tafesh, 43, Abdelrahim Talal al-Shweikh, 21, Salem Ismail Abu Ghdain, 28.
  • 12:00 P.M. The body of Sarah Muhammad al-Deif, 2, was recovered from the ruins of her house which was struck and destroyed on 19 August 2014.
  • 12:40 P.M. An airstrike hit a car in al-Nasr neighbourhood, killing two members of the resistance groups: Muhammad Ahmad Abbas, 45, Isam Muhammad al-Husni, 26.
  • 9:00 P.M. Ra’ed Ahmad Khatr, 5, was announced dead due to injuries he sustained following an airstrike that hit near his house in al-Zaytun neighbourhood on 19 August 2014.
  • 11:15 P.M. An airstrike hit a house in al-Sheikh ‘Ijlin neighbourhood. The house was previously struck and destroyed.

Central Governorate

  • 1:30 A.M. An airstrike hit and killed two members of the resistance groups in al-Nusseirat refugee camp.
  • 9:00 A.M. An airstrike hit and destroyed a house.
  • 12:00 P.M. An airstrike hit a house, wherein two families live, in al-Nusseirat refugee camp. Thirty minutes later, another missile struck and destroyed the house, causing damage to several adjacent houses.
  • 1:00 P.M. Eman Yunis al-Loh, 17, was announced dead due to injuries she sustained on 20 August 2014.
  • 3:00 P.M. An airstrike hit and killed Ibrahim Ra’ed Baraka, 45, while walking near his house in Deir al-Balah. Three others were injured in the strike.
  • 11:00 P.M. Two missiles struck the backyard of Bashir Ahmad Abu Shreteh, 26, killing him and his nephew Mahmud Tal’at Abu Shreteh, 13, and injuring two family members.

Rafah Governorate

  • 1:00 A.M. Two missiles struck and destroyed a house Misbeh neighbourhood, injuring one resident.
  • 2:30 A.M. Approximately 9 missiles struck a house in Tal al-Sultan without prior warning, killing three members of the resistance groups; Muhammad Ibrahim Abu Shamale, 40, Ra’ed Subhi al-Attar, 40, Muhammad Hamdan Barhum, 45, and seven civilians; Nathira Ramadan Kallab, 40, her sons Naser, 17, Yusuf, 15, Abdallah, 9, and their neighbours Hasan Hussein Yunis, 75, his wife Amal Ibrahim Yunis, 53, and Aysha Ismail Atiya, 63. The targeted house was destroyed along with six adjacent houses that were partially destroyed and severely damaged. 54 others were injured, including 21 children.
  • 3:00 P.M. Seba Rami Yunis, 4, was announced dead due to the injuries she sustained following the shelling of her neighbour’s house in Tal al-Sultan, which killed 10 people, including her grandparents.

  • 3:00 A.M. Three missiles struck and destroyed a house in Deir al-Balah, wherein two families reside.
  • 4:45 A.M. Without prior warning, an airstrike hit and destroyed a house in Deir al-Balah. An adjacent house was also destroyed. The strike resulted in the killing of seven family members: Ra’fat Mustafa al-Loh, 32, his wife Nabila Eid al-Loh, 28, her unborn baby, and three of their children, Mustafa, 10, Maysara, 8, and Farah, 6. Two of Ra’fat’s brothers were also killed, Muhammad, 22, and Ahmad, 22. Twelve people were injured.
  • 6:30 A.M. Four missiles struck a three-storey house in al-Nusseirat refugee camp, wherein five families live. Half an hour later, another missile struck and destroyed the house, damaging several other houses.
  • 2:30 P.M. Two missiles struck and destroyed a three-storey house, wherein two families live.
  • 3:45 P.M. An airstrike hit and killed two children, Saher Muhammad al-Abit, 11, and his cousin Muhammad Emad al-Abit, 16, while walking near Der al-Balah Girls School C, which is used as a shelter for the displaced people of the area. Two others were wounded.

  • 11:30 A.M. Two airstrikes hit and destroyed two houses in al-Zanna area.
  • 12:00 P.M. An airstrike hit near a house in al-Bdaw Street, North West of Khan Younis. One of the residents received a warning phone call to evacuate the area before the shelling. Three more missiles were fired at empty lands, damaging adjacent houses.
  • 3:00 P.M. Two missiles struck and destroyed a car garage in al-Qarara town, severely damaging an adjacent house.
  • 3:15 P.M. An airstrike hit and destroyed a car garage and land in al-Satr al-Sharqi, damaging the house.
  • 6:00 P.M. A missile struck the balcony of a house in Ma’an area, causing damage to the house. A few seconds later, three more missiles were fired at the garden, destroyhing the house and causing damage to the electricity network in the area. An adjacent house was damaged. The house was previously struck on 1 August 2014, killing 9 of its residents.

Tuesday 19 August

Gaza Governorate

  • 9:30 P.M. Six air missiles struck and destroyed a three storey house in al-Sheikh Radwan, wherein three families reside. Five residents were killed during the airstrike: Wedad ‘Asfur al-Deif, 28, and her son Ali Muhammad Deif, 7 months, Wafa’ Hussein al-Dalu, 47, and her sons Ahmad, 20, and Mustafa, 14. Fifteen people were injured in the neighbouring houses. Searches are ongoing as there might be bodies that have not been recovered. Four adjacent houses and a company were severely damaged while 36 vehicles were damaged and destroyed.

Central Governorate

  • 6:30 P.M. An airstrike hit Wadi al-Salqa area, east Deir al-Balah damaging an ambulance while no injuries were reported.

North Gaza Governorate

  • 4:50 P.M. An airstrike hit and destroyed a chicken farm in al-Qarara, east of Khan Younis.
  • 8:00 P.M. Omar Muhammad Jarghun, 27, was announced dead due to injuries he sustained on 10 August 2014 following an airstrike that hit a motorcycle in Khan Younis. The strike killed two others, Ihsan Mahrus al-Agha and Hasan Hussein Kaware’.

Rafah Governorate

  • 8:00 P.M. An airstrike hit and destroyed a nursery in al-Jnena neighbourhood.

  • 3:30 A.M. Meda’ Muhammad Aslan, 45 days, was announced dead. She was injured on 27 July during the shelling of her house in al-Maghazi refugee camp.

Rafah Governorate

  • 11:40 A.M. Two airstrikes hit and destroyed a house in the city centre of Rafah, injuring four people who were passing by the area.
  • 1:15 P.M. Two missiles struck an agricultural land in al-Salam neighbourhood, injuring one child.
  • 7:00 P.M. An airstrike hit a motorcycle in al-Nasr town, injuring a four-year-old child.
  • 8:45 P.M. Two airstrikes hit and destroyed a house in al-Salam neighbourhood.
  • 11:15 P.M. Two missiles struck and destroyed a house and a chicken farm in al-Salam neighbourhood.

Khan Younis Governorate

  • 4:30 A.M. An airstrike hit and damaged a house in Bani Suhayla, injuring the owner and killing his wife Amani al-‘Abd Baraka, 35.
  • 8:00 A.M. An airstrike hit in the midst of several houses belong to ‘Abdelghafour family in al-Qarara. Israeli forces had called one of the residents and ordered them to evacuate. Several houses were damaged in the area.
  • 12:45 P.M. Two missiles struck a three-wheeler in Bani Suhayla, injuring three people.
  • 6:00 P.M. An airstrike hit a group of people in al-Satr al-Gharbi area, injuring seven people.
  • 7:15 P.M. Three consecutive missiles struck and destroyed a house in al-Manara neighbourhood. Israeli forces had called the family to evacuate their house minutes before the airstrikes. Five other houses were destroyed as a result.

  • 5:00 A.M. Two missiles struck and destroyed a house in al-Mawasi, destroying a grocery store nearby.
  • 9:00 A.M. Two airstrikes hit and destroyed a house in al-Barazil neighbourhood and damaged several other houses, injuring two people. The house was previously struck on 17 July 2014 and was partially destroyed then.
  • Morning – ‘Izzdin Waleed Abu Sanima, 12, was announced dead from al-Shawka town. He had sustained injuries following the shelling of an UNRWA shelter in al-Shabura refugee camp on 3 August.
  • 10:30 A.M. Two airstrikes hit and destroyed a house in Tal al-Sultan, causing damage to several neighbouring houses.
  • 2:00 P.M. Three air missiles struck and destroyed a house in Khirbet al-‘Adas.
  • 7:45 P.M. An airstrike hit a service car in Eshta neighbourhood, killing the driver Sa’id ‘Atef Timraz, 26, and Muhammad Tamer al-‘Aidi, 28.
  • 9:00 P.M. Two missiles struck and destroyed a house in Khirbet al-‘Adas. Three more houses were destroyed as a result while several others were damaged.

Two airstrikes hit and destroyed al-Qassam mosque in al-Nusseirat refugee camp, killing three who were inside while the search continues for a fourth person suspected killed; Mo’ath ‘Azzam Abu Zayed, 34, Nidal Muhammad Badran, 45, Tareq Zeyad Jadalla, 24. Ten minutes later, another missile struck and damaged al-Shuhada’ mosque in the same refugee camp. Five minutes later, an airstrike hit and damaged al-Haj Nayef Abu Madin in al-Brej refugee camp.

  • As the ceasefire ended at 8:00 A.M., Israeli shelling on the Gaza continued, killing 15 civilians, including four children.
  • 10:30 A.M. An airstrike hit al-Nur al-Mahmadi Mosque in Sheikh Radwan neighbourhood, killing Ibrahim Dawawsa, 10, while playing near his house.
  • 2:10 P.M. An airstrike hit and destroyed a house in al-Mashtal Street.
  • 8:00 P.M. An airstrike hit and destroyed a house in al-Zaytun neighbourhood.

North Gaza Governorate

  • Following the ceasefire which ended at 8:00 A.M., 42 people were injured in the Israeli shelling of North Gaza, including 11 children. Five houses were directly hit, destroying four and a mosque was struck and destroyed.

  • Evening – Nour Safwat Abu Ter, 19, was announced dead. She was injured following the shelling of her house in ‘Absan al-Kabira on 23 July. Her sister, Zeinab, was killed immediately then.
    Hamad Jum’a al-Najjar, 32, was announced dead due to injuries he sustained in previous shelling.

Khan Younis Governorate

  • 12:00 A.M. Fayez Ismail Abu Hamad, 33, was declared dead. He was injured previously in the shelling of al-Zanna area.
  • Morning – Hathifa Ahmad Abu Elian, 19, was declared dead. He was previously injured in Absan al-Kabira. Khaled Zeyad al-Hindi, 15, was announced dead due to injuries he sustained on 29 July.

Gaza Governorate

  • Rajab Hasan Hmeid, 56, was announced dead. He was injured on 30 July 2014.
  • Paramedics and civil defence forces recovered three bodies from al-Shuja’iyya neighbourhood who were killed on 20 July 2014. The bodies belong to: Hamdiya Shamali, 57, her son ‘Arafat Shamali, 27, and Shaher Abu Halima, 29.

Central Governorate

  • Sana’ ‘Eid Abu Iqtifan, 41, was announced dead. Two bodies dead bodies were recovered; Husam Sami Abu Swereh, 24, and Mahmud Fayez al-Sharif, 21.

  • Early morning – Several missiles struck different conjunctions and streets in the eastern side of Rafah, destroying the infrastructure, electricity webs and water in the area.
  • 1:00 A.M. One missile struck near al-Zahra’ clinic in al-Jnena neighbourhood, killing Tha’er Abu Jazr, 17, while near his house.
  • 1:25 A.M. A missile struck a street on al-Salam neighbourhood, killing Raghad Abu Mas’ud, 3, and injuring three others, who were in their house.
  • 3:00 A.M. One missile struck and partially destroyed a house in al-Shabura refugee camp, injuring one resident.
  • 7:00 A.M. A missile struck a group of people in Tal al-Sultan, killing Ashraf Abu Mash’al, 28, and injuring another.
  • 8:00 A.M. An airstrike hit a motorcycle in Tal al-Sultan, injuring one man.
  • 9:15 A.M. An airstrike hit a group of resistance fighters in Misbeh neighbourhood, killing one.

Paramedics recovered 12 bodies, 11 of which belong to civilians, including four children, from the rubble of their homes in the eastern Rafah area: Ibtisam al-Mahmum, 18, Bisan al-Mahmum, 12, and her siblings ‘Abada al-Mahmum, 2, Heba al-Mahmum, 9, were killed in the shelling of al-Tannur neighbourhood.   • 11:30 A.M. Za’al Musleh, 54, was announced dead. He was injured during an air missile that hit residential buildings in Tal al-Sultan.
  • 5:00 P.M. An airstrike hit and destroyed a car garage in al-Shawka town.
  • 6:30 P.M. An unmanned drone struck a house in al-Barazil neighbourhood, killing Muhammad ‘Eweida, 14, and his sister Amal, 5, while on the roof of their house. At the same time, another drione struck a neighbouring house with no injuries reported.

  • 5:30 P.M. Mahmud al-Khalili, 7, was announced dead in one of the Egyptian hospitals. He was injured on 30 July when his house was shelled in al-Tuffah neighbourhood and killed all seven of his family.

North Gaza Governorate

  • 3:45 A.M. An airstrike hit and killed Izzdin T’ema, 19, a fighter, while on his motorcycle in Jabaliyya refugee camp.
  • 8:00 A.M. Wadi’a al-Zen, 29, was announced dead due to injuries she sustained following the shelling of al-Omari mosque in Jabaliyya on 29 July.
  • 10:30 A.M. Paramedics and civil defence forces recovered the bodies of two Palestinian fighters in al-Sefa area; Amro Muhjez, 22, and Waleed Drabi, 25. Abdallah Musa Mubarak’s body, 50, was recovered from east Jabaliyya.
  • 4:30 P.M. Eight decayed bodies were recovered from Beit Hanun, including three children, from the rubble of their house. The family was killed at the beginning of the ground invasion; Zaki Wahdan, 67, his wife Su’ad, 65, Baghdad Wahdan, 51, Zeinab Wahdan, 27, her sister Sumud, 22, and her child Ghina Yunis Saqr, 2, Ahmad Wahdan, 13, and Hussein Wahdan, 9. The four family members who survived this shelling were killed two days ago in an airstrike that hit Abul Qamsan residence in Jabaliyya.
  • 10:40 P.M. An airstrike hit and destroyed a house in al-Saftawi area in Jabaliyya.

Gaza Governorate

  • 2:30 A.M. Ahmad Abu Hen, 32, was announced dead. He was injured on 23 July following the shelling of his house in al-Shuja’iyya.
  • 6:00 A.M. Sheikh Radwan cemetery was hit in an airstrike, killing Nasralla al-Masri, 22, while in front of his house near the cemetery.
  • 6:45 A.M. An airstrike hit and destroyed an insurance company east of Ansar conjunction. The building was severely damaged as a result.
  • 10:00 A.M. Several artillery shells struck the sixth, seventh, eighth, ninth, and tenth floor of al-Thafer building, causing severe damages to the building.
  • 11:00 A.M. An airstrike hit and destroyed a house in Sheikh Radwan. The owner was phone called by Israeli intelligence to evacuate the house.
  • 5:00 P.M. An airstrike hit and destroyed a house in al-Nafaq Street.
  • 5:05 P.M. An airstrike hit and killed Qasem Muhammad Qasem, 26, a Palestinian resistance fighter.

North Gaza Governorate

  • 12:30 A.M. Two missiles struck a house in Jabaliyya, killing Jamila Wahdan, 28, Siniora Wahdan, 22, and Hatem Wahdan, 52. Twelve people, including four children were injured as a result.
  • 10:45 A.M. An airstrike hit and destroyed a house in Beit Lahia project, killing Ahed Badr, 20, and injuring 15 others. Ahed was killed while trying to provide medical assistance to the injured inside the house.
  • 7:10 A.M. A house was struck in Zamur area in Jabaliyya, killing the owner who’s a member of the resistance armed group.
  • 8:45 A.M. A house was struck with an air missile, killing Najah al-Sharafi, 48, her son Rajab, 9, and her nephew Mahmud al-Sharafi, 25. Three other family members were wounded as a result.
  • 12:30 P.M. Nur Wahdan, 2, was announced dead due to injuries she sustained earlier that morning in the shelling of her house in Jabaliyya
