Training-1sd-Defenders

The Center for Applied International Law, Ramallah, has concluded  a training course entitled: The reality of the rights and freedoms in the Palestinian land. This was the first in a series of training sessions tailored for a group of human rights activists from local Palestinian NGOs. Twenty attendees at the three day session examined several issues pertaining to the rights of Palestinians including a discussion on arbitrary detention, torture and freedom of opinion and expression.   

Director General of Al-Haq, Mr. Shawan Jabarin opened the session with a presentation on the reasons for establishing the Center, commenting on its mission to promote and develop the skills of researchers, jurists and activists in human rights organizations at the local and regional levels.

The Center for Applied International Law was established as a legal training center for lawyers and human rights defenders with the aim of developing the skills and expertise necessary for the practical application of human rights law and international humanitarian law.
